The short version
- We collect only the account and content data needed to run Lifepathz.
- We do not sell personal data, run ads, or track you across other apps or websites.
- Daily-feeling voice notes remain on your device.
- You can delete your account and associated data from inside the app.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Lifepathz mobile application, our website, and related support services (the “Services”). By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create or access an account, we may receive your email address, display name, sign-in provider, and a Firebase user identifier. If you use Sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, the provider controls the information it shares with us based on your choices and its policies.
Content you choose to create
This may include goals, milestones, tasks, todos, tags, journal entries, moods, reflections, daily logs, brain dumps, weekly analyses, worry/doubt/fear text and intensity scores, and media you intentionally attach.
Derived app information
Lifepathz creates path progress, streaks, weekly patterns, and AI-generated insights from your activity so it can show progress and provide coaching features.
Purchase information
Apple processes App Store purchases. We receive subscription status and transaction identifiers needed to unlock paid features, but we do not receive your full payment-card details.
3. Information we do not collect for advertising
We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking. We do not collect your contacts, precise location, or browsing history. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Voice, video, and on-device analysis
Daily-feeling voice-note audio files stay on your device. If you choose to record a video journal and enable emotion-reading features, facial expression, voice characteristics, and words may be analyzed on-device using Apple frameworks. The video frames and audio are not uploaded for that analysis. A short transcript may be sent through our AI service to help label a feeling. The resulting emotional read is not a medical diagnosis, and you can turn the feature off in Settings → AI Features.
Media you intentionally attach to a journal entry may be stored with your account so it can sync, as described in the app at the point of collection.
5. How we use information
- Provide authentication, sync, storage, path planning, reminders, progress, and support.
- Generate requested coaching, brain-dump organization, milestone names, and weekly insights.
- Maintain safety, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and protect the Services.
- Manage subscriptions and comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your journal or reflection content to target advertising.
6. AI features
When you use an AI feature, the text needed for that request travels from your device to a Lifepathz-controlled Firebase Cloud Function and then to OpenAI’s API. Our API credential is stored server-side and is not included in the app. OpenAI processes the request as a service provider under its applicable business/API terms. We do not send more content than is reasonably needed to provide the feature you requested.
AI output can be inaccurate. Lifepathz is a wellness and self-reflection tool, not a medical device, therapist, or diagnosis service.
7. Service providers and disclosures
We use service providers only as needed to operate Lifepathz:
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud for authentication, database, cloud storage, and server functions.
- OpenAI for AI features you choose to use.
- Apple, Google, or Facebook when you choose that provider to sign in.
- Apple to process App Store subscriptions and purchases.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal data.
8. Storage, security, and retention
Synced content is stored in Google Firebase under your authenticated account identifier. Security rules are designed to prevent public and cross-user access. Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS and protected at rest by the cloud platform. No system can guarantee absolute security.
We retain account data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Services. We may retain limited records longer where required for fraud prevention, accounting, legal compliance, or dispute resolution. Device-only content remains until you delete it, delete your account, or remove the app, depending on the feature.
9. Your choices and rights
- Access and edit your content in the app.
- Control microphone, camera, photo, notification, and AI-feature permissions in the app or iOS Settings.
- Request a portable copy of your data by contacting us.
- Delete your account in Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection where local law provides these rights.
To exercise a privacy right, email support@lifepathz.app. We may need to verify that you control the account. You may also review our account deletion instructions.
10. Children
Lifepathz is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.
11. International processing
Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms and contractual safeguards.
12. Changes
We may update this policy as Lifepathz evolves. We will change the date above and provide additional notice in the app when a material change affects your rights.
